From the Manufacturer
In 1949, Mr. Kihachiro Onitsuka began his athletic footwear company (Onitsuka Co., Ltd.) by manufacturing basketball shoes out of his living room in Kobe, Japan. He chose the name ASICS for his company in 1977, based on a famous Latin phrase "Anima Sana In Corpore Sano," which, when translated, expresses the ancient ideal of "A Sound Mind in a Sound Body." Taking the acronym of this phrase, ASICS was founded on the belief that the best way to create a healthy and happy lifestyle is to promote total health and fitness. I bought these for my 10 year old son. He has just started running in 5K's and was running the races in the sneakers I bought him for school. I always buy him two pair of sneakers at the start of the year and one pair happened to be ASICS. He preferred to run in his ASICS rather than the other shoe brand I had bought. He said the cushioning in the shoes decreased the impact he would feel in his feet when running. For Christmas he asked for a new pair of running shoes (he asked for these specifically) He has run one race since these were purchased and said they felt so good that his feet didnt hurt at all.

Bought these for my daughter because she loved them and we couldn't find them anywhere (never bought shoes online before). Seem to have lasted well and made her happy!

got these for our 11 year old girl's gym shoe. These have worked out well and she loves them. Now we just need two pairs - one for her to keep at school in gym locker and one that she can wear here at home :)
