In 1949, Mr. Kihachiro Onitsuka began his athletic footwear company (Onitsuka Co., Ltd.) by manufacturing basketball shoes out of his living room in Kobe, Japan. He chose the name ASICS for his company in 1977, based on a famous Latin phrase "Anima Sana In Corpore Sano," which, when translated, expresses the ancient ideal of "A Sound Mind in a Sound Body." I bought these for my childs sports at school and after 3 or 4 wares the front toe rubber sole has come off. I feel like sending them back to ASICS

Love the Gel Nimbus, have worn them for years, just figured out the big kid youth 7 is the same as a women's 9. Huge savings!!

My 10 year old son unprompted from me stated that he felt like he was running on a cloud in these shoes. He doesn't even know they are called "Nimbus"! He loves them and the color is cool!
